Okay, so maybe it was actually just very dusty treasure, but TREASURE just the same.
Have you ever found a box of your own writing that is so old you can’t remember writing it? And then, the best part….you start reading and think, this is good stuff! Oh my gosh, it just makes me so happy that I want to hug myself.
Who knew cleaning the attic could bring something more than a sense of accomplishment along with the requisite dust induced upper respiratory infection.
Has this ever happened to you?
Yes, it has happened to me already. Mostly things I wrote as a child. They provide hours of amusement now.
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
I have quite a bit of writing and artwork in the garage that I stumble upon from time to time. Its fun taking a trip down memory lane.
ReplyDeleteOh yea. Treasures indeed! Congrats on the find!
ReplyDeleteThere's a red floppy disk I've been searching for. It's been twelve years now, so I suppose I'll never find it, but still, I keep hoping.
ReplyDeleteI have looked back at writing from over ten years ago and found it horrible, which can be as equally inspiring. It means I've made progress somewhere along the way.
I love this! I just recently did this when I moved about three weeks ago. Journals and journals filled with thoughts of mine, some writing stories, some personal.
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun to see where my mind is at!
I discovered loads of stuff from middle and high school a few months ago! I've started posting them once a month to share with others in my Flashback Friday segment. It's so much fun! Some of it is good, some funny and some so awful you just have to laugh. Hey, I was a teenager! I was still blossoming! Got here from Colene's blog and glad I did! GREAT blog!
ReplyDeleteyep, this has happened to me...but I usually just laugh at my old writing (and cringe). But I love it when I find that snippet that's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, indeed it has...unfortunately, the writing from before is mostly laugh-worthy. :)
ReplyDelete*clears throat* Ahem. Guess I'll..er..introduce myself now?
Hi, I'm Eeshie, a young girl aspiring to be an author. I think. Well, I'm a teenager. I'm not sure what I want to do yet, and what will be the most profitable.
ANYWAY. I just want to say that your blog is really great. ANNNDDD I've actually heard of your book, Across the Universe. I've heard good things about it.
:)
So...it would absolutely make my day if you took a looksy at my blog. Here it is, in all its glory:

Well, guess I should start my Spanish homework now (something that I've been putting off for the past few hours, hehe)
Bye! (And Happy New Year)
